Week 57
26 November 2006

Dove Myer Robinson Park

When I previously visited this park, most roses were already out of bloom with only a very few worth photographing.  This time I decided to make a turn early in order to catch the roses at their very best.  It was a cloudy day when I made my trip down to Parnell Rose Garden - the name by which this park is commonly known.  The roses were absolutely beautiful and around some roses a lovely fragrance filled the air and this combination most certainly made it a worthwhile trip.

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK

I have never taken a picture for any other reason than that at that moment it made me happy
to do so.  - Jacques-Henri Lartigue, "Master Photographers - The World's Great
Photographers on their Art and Technique", page: 147

I could not find the name for this beautiful rose with its darker, velvet like edges

Another nameless rose which I shall call "Sunburst"

This rose is definitely my favourite - it has this rich
velvety colour that really caught my eye.   Unfortunately
I could not find its name either
